Collection: Bird Feeders

Where Should The Bird Feeder be Placed?

Stay away from predators

  • Avoid trees or bushes: While trees and bushes provide cover for birds, they can also serve as jumping points for predators, such as cats, squirrels, or birds of prey. Bird feeders are best placed away from these potential threats to reduce the chances of predators getting close.
  • Keep it at a certain height: Placing bird feeders at an appropriate height (e.g., 1.5 to 2 meters high) will avoid attacks from predators on the ground and will also make it easier for birds to find food.

Plenty of Sunlight

  • Avoid direct sunlight: Bird feeders should be placed in a location that receives sunlight but not too much exposure to the sun. Sunlight can help attract birds, while also ensuring that the food in the bird feeder is not easily contaminated by moisture or mold.
  • Avoid too much shade: If you want to attract a wider variety of birds, make sure the bird feeder is exposed to sunlight, but avoid placing it in complete shade.

Keep away from areas of frequent human activity

Try to place the bird feeder away from traffic, pets, or other places that may disturb the birds. Too much disturbance will make the birds feel unsafe and avoid visiting.

Avoid strong winds or bad weather

If your area has strong winds, consider setting up your bird feeder in a location that is slightly sheltered from the wind, or choose a bird feeder with a canopy to provide a comfortable environment for the birds.

Places to Observe

Choose a location where you can comfortably watch birds from a window or outside. Setting up the bird feeder close to a window or balcony will allow you to easily observe birds feeding.
